Thank God It's Friday!

TGIF1

October 30, 2009,  Friday - I woke up around 8am and said to my self: "Thank God It's Friday!" Well, I think everyone loves Friday, especially those who doesn't have work during weekends. For students, well, it's still sembreak, they can party all the way!  And before I forget, I was on Vacation Leave!

What happened last Friday?
- Badminton tournament (quarter finals, inter company competition).
- CINE INDIE MDG Award Winning Films Screening.
- October Fest Finale.

Though I was on leave, but I still went to the office.  Prior to that, I went to Ayala and bought a new hand grip for my badminton racket.  Josh put the new hand grip, since he knew how to do so. It's still 12 noon, and the game was scheduled 1pm, so I decided to wait the team (Kim, Fer and Josh). Except for Josh, we went together at Holiday Spa where the tournament was held. Josh came after few minutes we arrived.

Badminton (Team Reloaded vs Team Sprok )
The game was successful! It went well and yes - we won the match. And we are in for Semi-Finals which will happen this Sunday, November 8, at City Sports Club. Our opponent is Team Summit. After the game, we went back at the office, I ate my early dinner and around 6.30 I left the office and headed to Turtle's Nest for the CINE INDIE (MDG) Award Winning Films Screening.

Cine Indie @ Turtle's Nest by Cebu Indie Film Makers
I arrived at the venue before 7PM, I texted the rest of the Cebu Bloggers (who planned to watch  the screening), that I was already at the venue. I saw Mam Bambi (owner of Turtle's Nest), and had some chitchat with her.   It took a while for the organizers (Cebu Indie Film Makers) to set up their stuffs due  to some technical problems.   Well, it was worth waiting for anyway.  Before the program started, Clado and Prince arrived.  Unexpectedly, some of our co-Sinebuano went to the screening as well, they were Franz and Lito and his couzin Misha Anissimov.

A brief introduction by Remton Zuasola, director of "To Siomai Love"  opened the program. Followed by a live musical scoring performance by Donna Gimeno, co-writer/main cast of "To Siomai Love".

Films that were shown during the screening were:
UWAN INIT PISTA SA LANGIT (by Remton Siega Zuasola and Keith Deligero)
SAWANG CALERO (by Tessa Villegas)
TO SIOMAI LOVE (by Remton Siega Zuasola)
Mga DAMGO (by Remton Siega Zuasola)
YAWYAW (by Idden De los Reyes)
Trivia:
- To Siomai Love won the title "Best Short Film" during the recent Cinemanila  International Film Festival.
- Remton Siega Zuasola was declared as the Ishmael Bernal Award for Young Cinema during the Cinemanila  International Film Festival.

After the film showing,  Cebu Bloggers and Sinebuano (where I and Clado are connected) were having some chitchats and of course camwhorings, together with the Cebu Indie Film Makers.

It was already 11Pm when we left Turtle's Nest and headed to Mango Square for the Octoberfest Finale!

Octoberfest Finale!
Franz, Lito, Prince, Rabsin, Janmack, Clado and I went at Mango Square, specifically at the roof top of Mango Square where Octoberfest Finale was held. Entrance at 50.00 Php.  When we arrived, reggae band was performing on stage! I love reggae!   A lot of band, mixture of genre played during the finale. It was a whole lot of fun!
